Creating an urban shopping mall
Mixed Use Complex
Location: Rizhao, China
Client: Rizhao Urban Construction Investment Co.,Ltd
Programme: 6.5 ha Masterplan with 150.000 m2 residential , 150.000 m retail
Located at the edge of the emerging city center of Rizhao, the complex will form a destination in the increasingly popular seaside city in Shandong province. Our masterplan embeds the site into the wider context. Towards the public square and library in the East, the project opens up with a fine grain of commercial buildings and opens up routes into the heart of the commercial district. The massing of the shopping center is structured in 4 parts opening up through routes while creating human scale squares and open spaces. The residential towers in the west profit from the orientation over the recently completed river park.
The project introduces a new, human scale to the city of Rizhao. Visitors, shoppers and residents alike will find pleasant spaces that will invite them to spend time in the mixed-use complex.
