Mangrove Museum

Shenzhen, China

Mangroves are crucial ecosystems extremely rich in biodiversity. Keeping them or regenerating them therefore is key to mitigating climate change and its effects as well as fostering habitat for a huge number of species. The Mangrove Museum in Shenzhen wants to showcase this ecosystem and educate people how to protect and extend it. The design uses the idea of the mangrove tree as a structuring element while offering a new recreational environment for the city’s residents.
