MLA+ together with Polylester has been selected for landmark design competition

MLA+ together with Polylester is one of the 15 competitors for the design of the landmark for Qianhai New City Center in Shenzhen, China.

For the design of a public landmark on the ‘last plot’ of Qianhai, an entirely new district of Shenzhen, MLA+ teamed up with Dutch public space artist Gabriel Lester who has become known for his public art installations.

In the months to come the team will work on the development of what is to become an iconic place that represents this latest development area – a collaboration zone between Chinese mainland companies and Hong Kong and internationally based businesses.

Other competitors include: MVRDV/Olafur Eliasson, Foster & Partners, Stefano Boeri/Thomas Saraceno. Results can be expected in the summer.
