Strategy for improving pedestrian infrastructure in the city-wide context

Ekaterinburg green rings

Location: Ekaterinburg, Russia
Client: City administration of Ekaterinburg

Programme:
conceptual proposals for walkability improvement in the city-wide context within the city’s legal Genplan framework

MLA+ was asked to develop a strategy for pedestrian movement within the Transport chapter of the official city Genplan. We envisaged that strategy should be focused on two directions: improvement of everyday communication between existing and planned city centralities + creation of recreational greenways, where you could go for a stroll over the weekend.

Conceptual diagrams where supported with guidelines and recommendations for specific corridors and locations and discussed with local experts in the city.

Stages:
2017 Strategy for Genplan

Team:
Markus Appenzeller, Yana Golubeva, Yaroslava Nesterenko, Natalya Pirogova
