Propelling an unknown part of St. Petersburg

Kronstadt Vision

Location: St. Petersburg, Russia
Client: Kronstadt Rayon

Programme:
Analytical Study of the potential of the island of Kronstadt in the bay of St. Petersburg

Kronstadt is a city quarter on an island in the bay of St. Petersburg. Serving as the central command of the Russian Baltic Fleet, it was not accessible until recently. With the opening up and a road connection to the mainland, the place is waiting for regeneration.

The study carried out by MLA+ in collaboration with ITMO University maps the place and its obvious and hidden potential and serves as a starting point for an informed discussion how to regenerate and renew Kronstadt while keeping its unique character.

Stages:
2014 Research and mapping
