New industry, new character
Industrial New Town Masterplan
Location: Huizhou, China
Client: CFLD China Fortune Land
Programme:150 km² industrial area and football-themed character town masterplan
CFLD works with Zhenglong Town planning department to develop a new district. Our team contributed to the concept development from positioning to land-use planning. The most detailed work focused on an area nestled in the hills. Invisible from the valley, we proposed to develop “a new world” – a place that is not remote but feels far away from the usual urbanization. A hidden gem in the preserved natural zone of the Pearl River Delta, it is convenient for weekend getaways, business and health retreat.
The urban design builds on the quality of the plateau, with its duality of open fields, reservoir and lake that is enclosed by hills. It creates a setting for a sports training base, lychee tourism, healthy vacation homes and a headquarter industry. Four strategies are used to guide the design: to create a diverse landscape experience, to create a double core, to cluster buildings instead of compounds, and to create a unique experience in the new world by restricting traffic.
