Two solutions for one place
Mnevniki Complex
Location: Moscow, Russia
Client: Tekta Group
Programme: 530 apartments with 6.000 m² supporting functions and retail, parking garage
The Mnevniki Complex is located in a highly visible location on the traffic artery Zvenigorodskoe Shosse. From here the big monuments of Moscow – the Seven Sisters, the Kremlin and Moscow City are in clear sight.
MLA+ designed two proposals for the site, a monumental perimeter block and a series of towers:
Perimeter Block: The block quotes the big blocks that characterize the center of Moscow – but with a twist. To accommodate the development quantum, it had to be higher. This is achieved by putting it onto a plinth which renders the whole project like a monument that both – marks the place along a motorway and creates a place in an otherwise isolated condition.
Towers: The plot is relatively small and therefore does not lend itself to the development of several towers. By rotating them and creating special apartment layouts, this design proposal manages to deliver a high degree of privacy and a very dense cluster of towers. At the ground level, a plinth connects the three buildings and shields the courtyard from the noise of the nearby motorway.
