A tower that embodies a visionary company
Transsion Tower
Location: Shenzhen, China
Client: Transsion Holdings
Programme: 72.000 m² office tower with supporting functions, retail, learning centre, kindergarten and restaurants
Transsion is a mobile phone service provider that was founded in Shenzhen and is focusing on emerging markets in South-east Asia and Africa. The new headquarter building represents this local rootedness and the international outlook that is also reflected in the company logo that features a triangle as the key element.
Using this special shape and translating it into recurring elements in the building connects the building to the company. A terraced and open ground floor connects to the surrounding and invites visitors into the building while offering retail space on several levels. The office tower features a series of outdoor balconies envisioned as working and meeting places for Transsion’s employees. The tower is crowned by a showroom and reception area where the company can present itself to customers and business relations as well as hold company gatherings.
The façade is characterized by deep vertical columns that shade the glass and reduce heat load in the building. The changing angle of these elements delivers a gradient opening effect that creates an ever-changing image.
